One of the primary advantages of a genuine welted construction is that your boots can be resoled as long as the leather remains well-conditioned. Our shoemakers must be able to pull the leather over the last (mold). If the leather is dry and not conditioned, it can crack and deteriorate, leaving insufficient material to securely attach the new sole.
